after active duty i went into the photography business in arlington, texas, from 1971 to 1990. (a lot of work, moderately rewarding)
from 1990 until i retired on december 31, 2008, was a forensic specialist/crime scene investigator (yes, a csi). (very critical and technical work, hugely rewarding) i was a supervisor from 2000 until retirement. other than many major cases, including homicides, i was responsible for getting the unit accredited by ASCLD (the american society of crime lab directors). and, except for state labs and a few private labs, plano, texas, was just the seventh police agency in the state to be accredited. quite a fete.
concurrently i completed over 20 years in the reserves (1994) in MAG-41 at NAS dallas, final rank, major.
i have two sons. i divorced jan in 1990 and married pat in 1998, who was with me at the last two reunions. she has a son and a daughter. we, together, have six grandchildren ranging from one year old to ten years old. if any red devils are in the dallas/fort worth area, contact us...HAVE A GREAT REUNION

There is this one time I remember, . . .
Fighting our way West for a Steel Tiger with Tommy Keenan, Pappy glued to our wing in the goo, painting the worst of the cells on 10 mile scope with the gain way down trying to avoid the worst of the thunderheads and still getting beat up by it, and Pappy still glued to our wing. Incredible.
What it all meant . . . You know, I still wonder. Yet looking back now I think we (America) did something good just by saying we wouldn’t just roll over for what we perceived to be a threat. It may have work to our benefit in later years, and eventually it did when the Soviet Union collapsed. Were we part of that? I think so. Didn’t realize it at the time, but I think we were.
